Immersed in nature at the border between the provinces of Siena and Grosseto, the farmhouse (4+1 sleeping accommodations) is situated on a hill between the valleys of the rivers Ombrone and Merse. The 60 hectares of Mediterranean woods surrounding the building are home to a rich wildlife.
Close by the farmhouse (about 1 kilometre) are Petriolo`s thermal baths, ancient spas dating back to the 13th century renowned for their highly therapeutic waters. Members of the Medici and Gonzaga families, cardinals and dukes, as well as Pope Pius II, in the world Enea Silvio Piccolomini, regularly attended these hot springs, whose waters feed the Caldanelle, a torrent of pre-historic origins that flows in the woods belonging to the farmhouse, which border Petriolo`s spas.
From the farmhouse, the torrent is reached on foot in about 30 minutes through a pathway in the wood, or by car in 5 minutes through a driveway and a private gate, of which guests are given the key. The structure offers to its guests the exclusive possibility of dipping in the pools.
The house is south-facing and overlooks a charming landscape; as if from a terrace in a postcard, it opens onto Tuscan farmhouses, olive groves and the village of Pari; the Mount Amiata is seen in the background. The landscape, the panorama, the lack of roads (the only road in the neighbourhood ends up in the woods), the meadows, the olive trees, the oak and holm-oak woods surrounding the building and the warm natural colours of this land create a cosy and relaxing atmosphere, where reign peace and silence.
Accommodation
Two units compose the farmhouse. A staircase leads to the apartment rented to tourists on the first floor (on the ground floor are some storerooms and the laundry room). Guests enjoy the utmost privacy. In case of need, they can contact two people living nearby, who speak fluent English and German.
The house (4+1 sleeping accommodations in 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms) composes of porch-entryway, large living room with fireplace, large fully equipped kitchen, 1 large and bright double bedroom, 1 twin-bedded bedroom, 1 bathroom with shower and 1 bathroom with wash-basin, WC and bidet. Possibility of adding a supplementary bed in one of the bedrooms.
In front of the house stretches the lawn dotted with trees. A shed is furnished with table and chairs. In the lawn are a brick barbecue and an old oven with porch, table and chairs.
Facilities
Car park, working fireplace, washing machine, dishwasher, iron, electric oven, microwave oven, satellite TV with SKY decoder for watching free channels (possibility of using the guests` own SKY card). The laundry room with washing machine is on the ground floor, separated from the apartment.
Services
The farmhouse is about 2 kilometres from the small village of Pari, where are a cafe, a supermarket, restaurants and a church. Casale di Pari is 2 kilometres from the house as well. In Civitella di Paganico (15 km) is a bank.
