This walkway on which today there are shops, pubs and restaurants, in the Middle Ages was part of the defensive walls of the city, Florentine outpost during the wars with Siena. From its loopholes you can admire the view of the hills and feel for a moment a medieval soldier waiting for the enemy.
The Rocca di Castellina in Chianti makes the skyline of the town unmistakable. Built in the fifteenth century this fortress is characterized by an imposing crenellated tower from which you can enjoy a splendid view over the surrounding Tuscan countryside. Inside today you can visit the Archaeological Museum of Chianti with important Etruscan and Roman remains found in the surrounding areas.
