By car
It may prove to be the best solution to get to the town of the "Chimera" from other Tuscan towns or from the bordering regions. You can take the so-called Autostrada del Sole (A1) and exit at "Arezzo". The exit is just 9 kilometres from the city centre.
If you prefer travelling in the beautiful Tuscan countryside you can take the SS69, the SS71 or the SS73 and stop for some photos and a delicious lunch in Cortona, Stia, Sansepolcro...
By train
Arezzo railway station is halfway from Rome and Florence, along the line connecting the two regional capital towns. It therefore takes two hours and one hour, respectively, to reach them.
By bus
Several private bus lines connect Arezzo with Siena, Florence, Rome and other towns in the surroundings (remember it if you have rented a farmhouse in the province of Arezzo).
By plane
At the end of this chapter of our tourist guide dedicated to "how to get to Arezzo" we want to remind you that you can get to Tuscany also by plane. Florence Amerigo Vespucci airport is 90 kilometres from Arezzo (like Perugia Sant`Egidio airport in Umbria), whereas Piazza Grande is 155 kilometres from Pisa Galileo Galiei airport.
