It will be like living directly one of the fairy tales your granny told you when you were a child.

In Collodi, a small village in the municipality of Pescia, there is a park devoted to the most famous puppet in the world: Pinocchio.

Collodi is the bithplace of Carlo Lorenzini`s mother. Lorenzini is the author of The Adventures of Pinocchio, a tale published in serial form on the "Giornale dei Bambini" at the end of the 19th century (the first episode was published on July 7th, 1881).

Realized in the second half of the 20th century, the park houses several works by important artists reproducing some of the most important episodes of the book. In the park you will then find the "House of the Fairy", "The Terrible Dogfish", the "Land of Toys" and the "Black Rabbits with the Coffin".

Pinocchio Park, however, is not the only things to see in Collodi. In this corner of Val di Nievole you can visit also Villa Garzoni, one of the most beautiful Tuscan villas.

Built in the mid-17th century, the villa, which the native call "il castello" (the castle), is renowned mainly for its magnificent garden. In the past, many celebrities lived in the baroque villa, which has also been taken as a model for many other villas all over Italy.
