Description

The imposing and elegant villa stands in the countryside east of Florence, near the lovely village of Pontassieve, in Valdisieve. The historic centre of the capital of Tuscany is just a few kilometres away and is easily reached by train.

The villa is the result of the restoration of a small hamlet dating to the 12th century that once belonged to the Cerchis, an important merchant family of Florence.

Next to the villa is a small chapel dedicated to the Blessed Umiliana de' Cerchi, whose remains rest in an urn housed in a chapel of the transept in the basilica of Santa Croce, in Florence.

The villa stands in panoramic position and enjoys a wonderful view of the vineyards and olive groves that cover the surrounding hills.


The Outdoors

The private swimming pool (10x4 m; depth: 1.50 m) that lies in the wide garden that surrounds the building is exclusively reserved to guests.

A spacious terrace runs along almost the whole perimeter of the villa. The terrace is equipped with outdoor furniture for guests to relax and have their meals al fresco.

A barbecue area is at guests' disposal.


Accommodation

The villa is a three-storey building that sleeps 12 guests in 6 bedrooms and has 6 bathrooms and 1 half bathroom.

On the ground floor are the kitchen with fireplace/barbecue, the dining room, a living room, a double bedroom with a private bathroom with shower accessible to disabled people and a bathroom with shower.
On the lower floor, which is accessed both from the outside and internally, are a large living room with fireplace and a billiard table a a half bathroom.
The first floor composes of five double bedrooms (three of which have a private bathroom with shower) and another bathroom with shower.

The villa is equipped with swimming pool, barbecue, fireplace, Internet connection, satellite TV, billiard table, oven, piazza oven, microwave oven, freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, cot bed and private car parking place.
A domestic help is available upon request.
Guests will have the opportunity to taste the honey and olive oil produced in the farming estate of the owners of the villa and the wines produced by the most important Tuscany wineries.
