Some days in nature... just a stone`s throw from Florence. In Mugello you can discover the charm of nature without renouncing to a visit to the city of art. Indeed, Florence city centre is reached in a few minute`s car, coach or train ride (along the famous Faentina railroad!).

However, even during a short weekend in a holiday farm in Tuscany you should not renounce to visit the beautiful villages, castles and churches in Mugello.

• At Christman, several Tuscan holiday farms in Mugello give their guests a ticket for the "century-old Faentina railroad". Do you prefer stopping off at the small markets in the Mugello villages... or going to Santa Maria Novella railway station to do some shopping under the thousand lights of the "city of the lily"?

• Do you like activities in the open air? In Mugello you can do fantastic walks and mountain-bike and horseback excursions... along wonderful pathways surrounded by century-old trees (beeches, chestnuts, etc.). Or, if you prefer, you can play golf, go canoeing or do some archery...

• And after so much activity and effort, regenerate your body with a traditional dish! Delight your palate at table in a country house or in a farm in Mugello. Begin with "fried polenta with mushrooms" or with a delicious bruschetta. Then try "tortelli with potato filling" and "tagliolini with truffle"... You cannot renounce to try a slice of pecorino cheese from Mugello. Some dry biscuits (zuccherini, bocche di dama, etc.) or two rice pancakes... and a shot of "gemma d`abete" (a liquor produced by the infusion fir buds).
