Description

The villa is part of an ancient burg just a few kilometres from San Gimignano (Siena), in Valdelsa. Mentioned for the first time in a document belonging to Charlemagne dating from the 8th century, the burg survived the fury of the Florentine army that laid waste to the area about 350 years later. The elegant complex immersed in the Tuscan countryside dates back to the 13th century.

The ideal place for relaxing holidays in the peaceful Tuscan countryside, the complex is just a few kilometres from San Gimignano. Florence, Siena, Volterra and Monteriggioni are equally easily reached by car for pleasant one-day trips. Some tennis courts, a riding stable and a golf club are within a few kilometres of the villa.


The Outdoors

The buildings that compose the complex are surrounded by a wide garden, in which lies the private swimming pool (6x14 m; depth: 1.40 m) with an adjoining pergola.

A second pergola furnished with settees and armchairs affords a magnificent view of the surrounding countryside.

On the wide panoramic terrace that connects the buildings is an iron gazebo furnished with tables and chairs for having meals al fresco.

One of the buildings has a fitness area with a sauna, a bathroom and a dressing room.


Accommodation

The complex sleeps 28 guests in 13 double bedrooms and 1 twin bedroom; it has 14 bathrooms and 1 half bathroom.

A first two-storey building composes of kitchen, two living areas, three double bedrooms with ensuite bathroom and a suite consisting of a double bedroom, a twin bedroom and a bathroom with whirlpool bathtub. On the ground floor are also a bathroom with shower and a half bathroom.
The second building consists of living room with kitchenette, a double bedroom and a bathroom with bathtub and shower.
A third building houses an apartment composed of living room with kitchenette and two double bedrooms with ensuite bathroom.
The fourth building is divided into two living areas, a small kitchen, five double bedrooms with ensuite bathroom (one of the rooms is accessible to guests with disabilities) and a suite on three levels consisting of living room, a double bedroom and a bathroom.

A baby sitter, a cook, a maid and a breakfast service are available upon request.
