Description

The castle stands on a hill in one of the most beautiful areas of the whole Chianti region, in the municipality of San Casciano Val di Pesa, just a few kilometres from Florence. The windows and the garden command the wonderful Tuscan landscape made of vineyards and olive groves. Many tourist destinations, including Siena, Monteriggioni, San Gimignano and Colle Val d`Elsa, are easily reached with short drives.

The castle, today a "Residenza d`Epoca" (that is, a historic manor house), was built in the 10th century on the foundations of a Roman settlement and then converted into a villa between 1450 and 1500.

This magnificent example of medieval castle is an excellent accommodation for those who dream of relaxing holidays in the peaceful Tuscan countryside. A riding stable, a golf club and a tennis club are in proximity to the castle.


The Outdoors

In the 600-square-metre garden that surrounds the building lies the private swimming pool (11x4 m; depth: 3 m), which affords a wonderful view of the Chianti hills.
A table for having meals al fresco and the barbecue equipment are at guests` disposal.
Around the castle stretch 30 hectares of woodland where guests can have relaxing walks.


Accommodation

The castle is a three-storey building that sleeps up to 20 guests in 8 double bedrooms, 1 twin bedroom and 2 single bedrooms, and has 10 bathrooms.

On the ground floor are the entry hall, the kitchen, the dining room with fireplace, two living rooms (one featuring a fireplace), the central hall, the laundry room, a double bedroom with ensuite bathroom and a bathroom.
The mezzanine consists of a living room, two double bedrooms with ensuite bathroom and a third double bedroom with a private (adjacent) bathroom.
The first floor composes of a game room, a living room, four double bedrooms (two with ensuite bathroom), a twin bedroom with ensuite bathroom, two single bedrooms and two bathrooms.
Two loggias overlook the swimming pool and the valley below.
