Description

The farm consists in a charming and picturesque castle featuring a clock tower , whose central part dates back to the 15th century.

It stands in panoramic position just 25 kilometres from Florence, on the hills of Valdisieve, covered with the olive groves and vineyards that characterize the Chianti and Tuscan landscape.

The favourable geographical position and the proximity to Pontassieve railway station make it possible for those who love cultural holidays to easily reach Florence and other important Tuscan cities of art, including Siena, San Gimignano and Volterra.

All necessary services are in the nearby villages of Pelago and Pontassieve.

Guests can dedicate to trekking in the estate and in the nearby Vallombrosa natural park.

Many events are organized in the holiday farm, including grape harvest, olive harvest, pork processing and guided tours to the ancient wineries in the neighbourhood and to the jar store in the farm.

The cosy restaurant of the holiday farm features a small sitting area by a wood-burning stove, two long tables and an exposed kitchen used to prepare traditional Tuscan dishes with the products of farm.

The owner of the holiday farm is a cook with multi-year experience, who manages also a famous restaurant in the centre of Florence. Tuscan cooking lessons are arranged for guests.


Accommodation

The holiday farm composes of 5 apartments, for a total of 23+5 sleeping accommodations. All of the apartments have been renovated with an eye to preserving the original elements, and are furnished in the traditional Tuscan style.

All of the apartments are provided with independent heating system, dishwasher, oven, fridge, TV set, crockery, pots and table and kitchen linen.

Apartment Gesuina (5+1 sleeping accommodations in 1 triple bedroom, 1 double-bedded room, 1 supplementary single bed and 1 bathroom) - It is situated on the ground floor of the small castle and features a large living room with an ancient stone fireplace, a relaxation area, an exposed kitchen and a dining table.
A long corridor leads to the sleeping area, composed of a bedroom with three single beds, an access room with a supplementary single bed, a double-bedded room, a bathroom with shower and a storeroom with a wash-basin.

Apartment Noce (4+2 sleeping accommodations in 2 double-bedded rooms, 2 supplementary single beds and 1 bathroom) - The apartment is on two levels. The ground floor composes of a room with exposed kitchen, a dining table and an ancient fireplace, and a storeroom with a wash-basin.
A charming stone-and-wood staircase leads to the first floor, where are a living room with two supplementary single beds, two double-bedded rooms commanding the garden where lies the swimming pool, and a bathroom with shower.

Apartment Aia (4 sleeping accommodations in 1 twin bedroom, 1 double-bedded and 1 bathroom) - Situated on the ground floor in front of the courtyard, the apartment consists in an eat-in kitchen with dining table and an ancient stone fireplace; a bedroom with two single beds; a bedroom with a double bed; a large bathroom with shower box.

Apartment Torre (8+2 sleeping accommodations in 3 double bedrooms, 1 twin bedroom, 2 supplementary single beds and 4 bathrooms) - The apartment is on the first floor of the castle and stretches over two levels. On the first level are two kitchens (one featuring an ancient fireplace), a living room, two double bedrooms, a twin bedroom, a bathroom with shower and a bathroom with bathtub. The second level corresponds to the of the castle and is divided into a kitchen, a double bedroom, a bathroom with shower and a second, small bathroom.
Two supplementary single beds can be added upon request in the living room.

Apartment Terrazza (2 sleeping accommodations in 1 double-bedded room and 1 bathroom) - The charming and picturesque independent apartment composes of a room with exposed kitchen and a glass wall that opens onto the covered terrace; a double-bedded room; a bathroom. The apartment enjoys a view over the swimming pool and the vineyard.
