Not only the excellent wine and olive oil produced in the Chianti area are the expression of the culture and traditions of this region but also various festivals and events linked to the territory and the cycle of the seasons as well as to ancient trades. Whatever the period of the year in which you decide to rent an accommodation in the Chianti region, the area always swarms with festivals and events.

The main square of any hamlet in the Chianti region hosts a weekly street market all the year round, the most famous being those of Castellina and Greve. Many antique fairs are organized in the area, where you can buy ancient objects and browse among the booths and look at the furniture and tools usually present in the houses of the peasants in the past.

In June, in the Chianti area begins the season of the festivals dedicated to food and drink and to the ancient peasant traditions.

During all weekends of July and August in many towns of the Chianti region, including Castellina and Castelnuovo Berardenga, you can taste the local culinary specialities.

September is the month of the festivals dedicated to grape harvest: in the second week of September Greve in Chianti hosts a famous show dedicated to Chianti Classico, whereas Impruneta on the last Sunday of the month hosts a grape festival during which floats prepared in the four districts that compose the town parade along the streets.
