Description

The villa was built in the 17th century on the hills of Valdelsa, between Poggibonsi and the picturesque town of Colle Val d`Elsa, in the province of Siena In the course of the centuries the building was extended to its actual size. The marble sculptures inserted in the walls and the battlements decorating the top make the villa a structure unique in its genre, resembling almost to a castle. The double-lancet windows are another unusual element of the villa.

The wonderful frescoes in the lounges of the villa date from the early 20th century, whereas those in the bedrooms are more recent.

The villa and its park command the luxuriant Chianti and Valdelsa countryside. The ideal accommodation for those who dream of peaceful vacations in an elegant and refined atmosphere, the villa is an excellent departure point for visiting Colle Val d`Elsa (the town of crystal), San Gimignano Siena Volterra, Florence and the Chianti region.

The owners live near the villa and will be glad to help their guests in case of need.


The Outdoors

Guests can spend pleasant hours in the garden that surrounds the building, enjoying the magnificent panorama in the shadow of the century-old cypress trees.
Two small lakes lie in the garden of the villa.

At the north-west side of the garden, some steps lead to the private swimming pool (7x15 m; depth: 0.60-1.86 m), exclusively reserved to guests. A stone solarium area furnished with sun loungers, deck chairs and sunshades, surrounds the swimming pool.
A marble pavilion adjacent to the swimming pool overlooks the hills of Chianti.
A small stone annex, which in the past was used as a hunting lodge, is equipped with cooker, electric oven, fridge and freezer.
Guests can have their meals al fresco in the shadow of the oak trees in the northern part of the park.
In the park are also a sink and a shower, both with cold and warm water, and a half bathroom.


Accommodation

The villa is a three-storey building; it sleeps 14 people in 3 double-bedded rooms, 2 twin-bedded rooms, 2 single bedrooms, 1 single sofa bed and 1 single armchair bed, and has 3 bathrooms and 1 half bathroom.
The ground floor is entirely devoted to the living area and composes of an office decorated with frescoes by the previous owner of the villa, a reading room, the TV room and a large lounge with a piano. On the ground floor are also a large kitchen, a wide pantry, a laundry room and a half bathroom.
On the first floor are a living room with fireplace; a room where guests can play cards; the master bedroom with a canopied bed and a wardrobe room; a double bedroom with a single armchair bed, which overlooks the gentle Sienese hills; a single bedroom; a marble bathroom commanding the hills of Chianti Classico.
On the second floor are a suite composed of two living rooms (one with fireplace), a large double bedroom with a beautiful baroque fireplace and white marble bathroom with bathtub and double washbasin; a double bedroom with single sofa bed; a second double bedroom overlooking the surrounding hills; a single bedroom with a canopied bed; a rose marble bathroom overlooking the hills of Chianti Classico.
