After having chosen your accommodation in Tuscany, you just have to decide how to get there; which will be quite simple if your destination is in the province of Prato.

If you decide to travel by car, you can choose between two motorways.

• If you are coming from northern or southern Italy, take the A1 motorway and then the A11 and exit at Prato Est, next to the Centro per l`Arte Contemporanea "Luigi Pecci", or at Prato Ovest, on the opposite part of the town.

• If you are coming from the Tuscan coast or from Liguria, you just have to take the A11 motorway.

The nearest airports are in Florence (Amerigo Vespucci), Pisa (Galileo Galilei) and Bologna (Guglielmo Marconi). All the three of them are served by national, international and low cost airlines.

Prato is also situated along the Lucca-Florence and Milan-Rome train lines. The former stops at Prato Centrale, Prato Porta al Serraglio and Prato Borgonuovo, whereas the latter is a high-speed line connected also to Florence Santa Maria Novella.

Obviously at the airports and railway stations you can find taxi stations and car rental services.

However, after having arrived to your vacation house in Prato and unpacked wear a pair of comfy shoes: walks and bike rides are the best way to discover the town along the river Bisenzio and its treasures.
