Corso Italia and Piazza della Badia, Vicolo dell`Orto and Chiostro Petrarca and, above all, Piazza Grande: it is in this charming setting, among the aristocratic palaces and the apartments in upper Arezzo that the first Sunday of each month - and the preceding Saturday - is held the traditional Antique Fair.

The event has been taking place without solution of continuity since 1968, the year of the first edition, and attracts to Arezzo thousands of art lovers, tourists and collectors.

It was the antiquarian Ivan Bruschi who founded the fair (do not forget to visit his house-museum situated in the 14th-century Palazzo del Capitano del Popolo, in Corso Italia). Nowadays more than 500 exhibitors and about 100 antique shops participate in the fair.

Strolling among the stalls, you can find rare books, ancient prints, fossils, fine carpets, restored furniture, and so on: real tempting occasions even for those who are spending their holidays in Tuscany and want to surprise their relatives and friends with something different from the usual souvenirs.

Just one tip: the best bargains are made before the official opening of the fair , when the exhibitors are still arranging their stalls. This is the ideal moment to begin the bargaining, which will end on the Sunday of the fair with a handshake and the purchase of the chosen object.
