Villa Bernardini was finished in 1615, as reported in the inscription carved in the architrave of the main portal by order of Bernardino Bernardini. The inscription is still visible.
Inside the building, the original decorations and furniture are still to be admired. The rooms are richly decorated with mythological frescoes, copies of works by Annibale Carracci and other painters.
The villa is surrounded by a wide park divided into three different areas. Together with the garden in front of the villa, which is called "Giardino degli innamorati" (Lovers` garden) due to its heart-like shape and is the result of 19th-century renovation works, there are a secret garden and a verdure theatre dating back to the 18th century.
