Profile

The medieval castle was built in 973; the Knights Templars enlarged it in 1167. It stands in the heart of Tuscany, atop a hill in the Valdambra, in the Eastern Chianti district, just 30 minutes from Siena and Arezzo

In ancient times, the place was the site of Etruscan, Roman and then Longobard settlements, and is also mentioned in a document on a Carolingian donation in favour of the Abbey of Nonantola dating back to 780.

The castle is situated at the centre of a fortified structure, which surrounds the building as if it were a small village. The structure composes of two houses: "Casa Torre" and "Casa Corner". The houses have been renovated keeping the original 13th-century style and thanks to their position inside the castle, they dominate the surrounding valley and offer unparalleled vistas to guests.

In these houses guests experience a really suggestive atmosphere.

In the past, the Knights Templars used the 220 sq mt lounge decorated with four arches 8 metres high, arrow slits and windows as their chapter house. The lounge can be rented for exhibitions, seminars, concerts and wedding ceremonies. Possibility of organising banquets for up to 120 people outdoors.


Accommodation

The CASA TORRE (8 sleeping accommodation) is divided into two apartments.
Apartment 1 - (120 sq mt, 6 sleeping accommodations). First floor: kitchen and dining room. Second floor: bathroom with shower, double bedroom, living room with double sofa bed with access to the loft (16 sq mt), furnished with two single beds. Terrace, private garden furnished with table sitting up to 8 people, barbecue equipment and car park.
Apartment 2 - (suite communicating with apartment 1) (60 sq mt - 2 sleeping accommodations). On the ground floor are one bathroom with shower and the living room with kitchenette; the loft is furnished with a double bed. In the small garden is a table sitting 5 people.

CASA CORNER (84 sq mt, 5 sleeping accommodations, 1 bathroom).
Ground floor: kitchen and dining room.
First floor: bathroom with shower and living room.
Second floor: triple bedroom with one double and one single bed. The bedroom has access to a loft with two single beds.
