The House of the Puccini Family in Celle dei Puccini - In Celle was born Giacomo Puccini`s homonymous great-great-grandfather. Fatherless, in 1719 the first Giacomo moved to Lucca with his mother and brother. Here began the glorious dynasty. In Celle remained the properties and family things, which were never forgotten and were, on the contrary, strengthened during the holidays and in particular in autumn, after the celebration of the Holy Cross in Lucca.

The composer loved to spend his holidays in Celle with his brothers and sisters. However, after his father`s death, his mother Albina was forced to sell all properties one by one. But Ramelde, the dearest sister, prevented the loosing of the strong bonds linking the family to Celle: in fact, her husband bought one of the houses, where her daughters spent their holidays until the early 1860s.

Alba Franceschi and some other heirs have given some of the precious relics which are to be found in the museum opened in 1976 in Puccini`s ancestors house: among them, there are the bed where the Maestro was born, the crown that he was given to celebrate the success of "Le Villi", a collection of pictures of the Florentine performance of "La Bohème" in 1896, a piano that Puccini used when he was composing "Madama Butterfly", a phonograph Thomas Edison gave him and a collection of letters and notes concerning music.

The room on the first floor represents the typical living room in a musicians` house, the furniture in the bedroom comes from the house where Puccini was born in Lucca and the kitchen is furnished like a typical country house.
The second floor is dedicated to the ancestors, to family things and to the documents of the museum.
