Monastero della Visitazione - Giacomo Puccini used the monastero della Visitazione, where Iginia Puccini served as an Austin nun, to recreate the monastic atmosphere in "Suor Angelica" (Sister Angelica). It seems that Puccini let Iginia and her sisters preview the opera, but this is only a rumour. It is certain, instead, that Giacomo was profoundly bond to his sister, to whom he gave many scores of organ compositions.

The nunnery houses a harmonium that Giacomo gave to Iginia in 1921, the hand-written score of "La Fanciulla del West" (The Girl of the Golden West) with a dedication of the composer to his sister, scores of composition for female voices and organ or for organ only, evidence of the donations Puccini made in favour of the nuns and letters by Iginia.

As a demonstration of the fact that the nuns were not interested only in sacred music, the monastery houses also a collection of dance music and scores of compositions for piano.
