Villas in Florence: Villa di Bibbiani in Capraia e Limite
Villa di Bibbiani is an elegant building surrounded by a wide park situated on the side of the Montalbano, between Vinci and Artimino.
The whole complex, that at the end of the 18th century belonged to the family of Marquis Ridolfi, is composed of a various buildings dating back to different times: the caves, the oil-mill and the barn are antecedent to the 15th century; the main building dates back to the late 17th century, whereas the theatre and the chapel, with their Rococo decorations, were built in the 18th century. The Neo-Gothic stables were built at the beginning of the 20th century.
The Romantic park, realized in the 19th century by order of Marquis Cosimo Ridolfi, characterizes the whole complex. Partly Italian garden and partly English garden, the park features many interesting statues and plays of water.
