Villas in Florence: Villa Torre Palagio in Barberino di Mugello
Villa Torre Palagio stands by the lake of Bilancino, in the hilly region of Mugello, a few kilometres from Florence. The building is surrounded by a gorgeous park of conifers and century-old trees, such as a sequoia, a Lawson cypress and some cedars of Lebanon.
The original "palagio" (palace) was a fortified 15th-century building belonging to the Pulci family. Here, Lorenzo the Magnificent liked to spend some time with the writers and philosophers who formed his group of friends.
The villa was completely renovated during the 19th century.
