Description

The villa is situated in a small medieval village near Volterra , in Valdera, in the countryside between Pisa and Livorno. The elegant building is located in the lower part of the village, whereas in upper and steeper part of it, called La Torre, stands the medieval stronghold.

The villa is a Liberty style building dating to the mid-19th century. The villa has been recently renovated with an eye to maintaining its architectural characteristics, and is furnished with 19th-century furnishings and decorated with original paintings.

The villa stands in panoramic position atop a hill in Valdera and overlooks the surrounding vineyards and olive groves. The garden and the windows of the building command the town of Volterra .

Situated just a few kilometres from Volterra and San Gimignano , the villa is also an excellent departure point for visiting Pisa , Florence , Siena , Lucca and all the major Tuscan cities of art. Near the villa are also some spas, a tennis club, a riding stable and a golf club.


The Outdoors

The loggia in the stone-paved garden adjacent to the kitchen and the living room is furnished with a table for having meals al fresco.
The pergola covered with wisteria affords a wonderful view of the surrounding countryside and of the town of Volterra .

A small brick staircase leads to the garden below, where are an imposing linden tree and the private swimming pool (10x4 m; depth: 1.30 m) with salt water and whirlpool area. The pool side is furnished with sun loungers and sunshades.

The villa sleeps 10+3 guests in 2 double bedrooms, 3 twin bedrooms and 3 supplementary single beds, and has 3 bathrooms.

On the ground floor are the fully equipped kitchen, a storeroom, a living room, a wide frescoed sitting room, the dining room, a reading room, a double bedroom that can be converted into a twin bedroom and a bathroom with shower.
The first floor composes of two double bedrooms (one with canopied bed), two twin bedrooms that can be converted into double bedrooms, a bathroom with shower and a bathroom with bathtub.

Three single beds can be added in three bedrooms.
